Innovation in Golf Course Management

I travel around and visit a lot of Golf Courses especially in the Southeast. I was up in South Carolina last week and stumbled upon The Club at Brookstone in Anderson, SC. I noticed the practice range had a cover over it and walked down to see the area. When I got there it was an amazing set up. Tee area with outdoor furniture at each box, a tv monitor above the lounge area and fully installed trackman systems at each tee box. I was very excited about this and though immediately what a great idea. The Trackman system has numerous analytic metrics that allow you to see each shot on a video board complete with distance, ball speed and other informative pieces. What a great way to practice. Also, you can play a round on the Trackman, hold tournaments and competitions. This is a money maker for those looking to add a revenue stream. They also had lights and stay open until 10PM each night. I am sure they pack this area each night. It is covered to keep heat and rain off of you and just a brilliant idea to have a fast paced golf experience for their patrons. Kudos to The Club at Brookstone for being innovative.
